Frequently Asked Questions
Prayer times depend on your location and the calculation method selected. Go to Settings → Calculation Method and choose the method used in your country (for Turkey, Diyanet is recommended). Also make sure location permissions are granted for Vaktu in your device settings. If you recently traveled, the app needs a location update to recalculate times.
On iOS: Go to Settings → Notifications → Vaktu and ensure notifications are allowed. Check that "Time Sensitive Notifications" is enabled for Vaktu. If you're using Focus mode, make sure Vaktu is added to your allowed apps.
On Android: Go to Settings → Apps → Vaktu → Notifications and ensure they are enabled. Disable Battery Optimization for Vaktu to prevent the system from killing background processes. Some manufacturers (Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung) require additional whitelisting in power/battery settings.
Vaktu supports 10 languages: Turkish, English, Arabic, French, German, Malay, Indonesian, Russian, Bengali, and Urdu. The app automatically follows your device language. To change it manually, go to Settings → Language within the app and select your preferred option.
Qibla direction is calculated using your GPS coordinates and points toward the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. For best accuracy, hold your device flat and away from metal objects or magnetic interference. Make sure location permission is enabled. If the compass seems off, try calibrating it by moving your phone in a figure-8 motion.
Yes, Vaktu is free to download and use. All core features — prayer times, adhan notifications, qibla direction, and Hijri calendar — are available at no cost. The app may display ads to support development. Optional premium subscriptions are available to unlock features like custom per-prayer adhan sounds and an ad-free experience.
Widgets: Available on both iOS and Android. Add a Vaktu widget to your home screen to see today's five prayer times and the countdown to the next prayer at a glance. On iOS, long-press your home screen and tap "+" to add a Vaktu widget. On Android, long-press the home screen and select Widgets → Vaktu.
Apple Watch: Install the Vaktu Watch app from the Watch app on your iPhone. It displays current prayer time, next prayer countdown, and supports watch face complications so you can see prayer info at a glance.
